The End

Things i have learned from all my previous blogs is that i need much higher diction and higher vocabulary. I'm almost in 10th grade honors english and i use vocabulary a 5th grader can understand. I also learned that i shouldn't push things until the very last second like what i am doing right now. It causes a total catastrophe to my sleeping habits and my learning process. Although there are many things i have learned from doing all the blogs, some blogs couldn't teach me anything and i just had tons of fun writing them. One of them is the Life Lessons which was when my mother told me to always listen and learn. I still use that to this day still as i stare blankly at the computer screen. Something significant of the New Years Resolution blog was that i'm actually staying true to one of my resolutions. Emphasize on the ONE, but thats not the point. The point is that i've kept true to myself and that's really special to me. It shows that i actually don't give up on things. I use to always think i would give up on everything i would do, but my new years resolution shows that that is false. My last blog that i did, it showed my progression of my writing through out 9th grade, and i have to say i am quite disappointed in myself. I know for sure i can do much better than all those essays, but this year has not been my greatest. Beginning of high school, meeting new people, new friend ships and losing friend ships. It's pretty epic. "It's a hard knock life for us, its a hard knock life for us.." The chorus from the song "It's a Hard Knock Life" By Jay Z shows that life is difficult and you have to fight and keep fighting no matter what.
I'm sorry my blog probably isn't the greatest, but i had a great time writing it, looking back at my old blogs brought back memories.
So, good bye, i'll hopefully see all of you next year.
It's been a good year.

Essay Writing

After writing many essays in the school year, i have found myself to be a much better writer than i use to be when i was in middle school. It seems that i have a much better hook. Instead of it being a question, i actually entice the reader to keep on reading without using a question. Things i will have to work on though is going deeper into what the book really means, and alos need to work on my conclusion.
I'm pretty confident that my essay for Romeo and Juliet will get an A, most likely an A- but theres also a huge chance that it will get a B or lower. Things i could've worked on more but didn't was putting more thought into my body paragraph ideas. Also i could've worked on my conclusion.

Reading for fun?

Personally, I never read for just "pure enjoyment" but for the sake of this blog, the books I chose were, Into thin Air, by Jon Krakauer and Scar Tissue by Anthony keidis. I chose these books becuase the first book is about moutain climbing which is one of my favorite things to do in my spare time. The second book is an autobigraphy of Anthony Keidis, the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. One of my all time favorite bands.

Questions

In this weeks reading, a character i really did not understand was Mrs. Brandley. Her literal purpose is to watch over Estella but is there any deeper meaning of her presence? Could she be like Abel Magwitch and pop back up int he novel?
help me out!

Importance of Being Earnest

My concrete details is the way Cecily and Algernon talk. Cecily is very flirtacious but hard to get, and Algernon isn't giving up. Another concrete detail is the way Cecily and Algernon feel about eachother. Cecily wants to meet Algy becuase she always wanted to meet Jack's brother. Algernon just wants to bubury Cecily. Finally, the last concrete detail is the way the think about eachother. Cecily thinks Algernon is a bad boy and Algernon thinks Cecily is some cute little country girl.

New Years Resolution

The new year has finally come! 2010 baby! Starting the new year, there are many, many things I need to improve on but the most important is getting my grades up. This resolution isnt really a resolution, because its a do or die, i do it or i fail. Its getting all straight A's this semester, aand im sort of freaking out right now becuase my science grade is not looking that good. Man i really hope i do get all A's.
A few inspirations that will lead me to my goal is definitly my mother. All the time and im not being sarcastic when im saying this, she nags about telling me to study and do my homework, and do well in school. Usual parenting stuff, but i got to say, it has helped quite a bit. Wish me luck.

Mockingbird Motif

In the beginning of the school year, the word motif was a bit difficult to me. Then i read To Kill a Mockingbird, and it came clear to me what motif meant. I finally realized tha motif is basically a theme but in symbolic form.

There are plenty of mockingbird motifs in this novel. The one that i thought was the most importnat would have to be racism. This adds many symbolic forms to other themes. For example, when Tom is tried for raping Mayella, Atticus, as the defnedr of Tom, clearly shows that it was impossible. Tom's left hand was destroyed by a cotton gin and therefore could have done nothing of the sort. Tom's disability shows he is a mockingbird which is another major theme in the story.
